View-master oli yksi mummolan

Videonauhurit ja videoelokuvat yleistyivät nopeasti. Suomessa oli jo yli 300.000 videotaloutta, kun niitä vuoden 1983 lopussa oli noin 155.000. Videoelokuvia oli tarjolla yli 3000 nimikettä.

Videotallenteiden liikevaihto oli toissa vuonna noin 100 miljoonaa markkaa ja viime vuonna noin 200 miljoonaa markkaa.

Videojärjestelmistä VHS:n osuus kasvoi entisestään. Tyypillinen videokuluttaja oli edelleen noin 30-vuotias mies, vaikka vuokraamojen asiakaskunta olikin vähitellen monipuolistumassa.

View-masterin kolmiulotteiset kuvat jaksoivat ihastuttaa nykyajankin lapsia. Vaikka videonauhurit yleistyvät nopeasti, joka kodin laitteita ne eivät olisi vielä pitkään aikaan.
