First Call for Presentations and Participation

Helsinki Centre for Digital Humanities (HELDIG) was launched by a kick-off symposium on Oct 6, 2016 that was attended by some 200 friends of Digital Humanities. HELDIG Digital Humanities Summit 2017 provides a snapshot of activities within the centre and its collaboration network after the first year of operation, facilitating networking and sharing results within the Finnish community of Digital Humanities research and education and beyond.

Programme

After opening the Summit, the first presentation slot of the day contains talks from the seven faculties of the University of Helsinki involved in the HELDIG initiative. After this, presentations from collaborating organizations of the HELDIG network are heard. After the lunch, talks about projects, research, and applications underway are given (cf. Call for Presentations below). Finally, there is a networking event based on posters and demos in the lobby, with nibbles and cocktails served.

Call for Presentations, Posters and Demos

In addition to invited talks, HELDIG Digital Humanities Summit 2017 is open for proposals for short (max 10 min) presentations of research groups, projects, results, application demos, etc. The call is open not only for people already active in the HELDIG network but also for those interested in making new connections. The goal is to facilitate networking and new collaborations within the community.

To participate, send a max 2 page English abstract proposal to <mailto:> by Sept 24, 2017 latest indicating whether you would like to a) give a presentation in one of the sessions or b) present a poster or demo during the networking session. Accepted abstracts will be published on the HELDIG Summit 2017 website.
