This themed issue highlights empirical and conceptual approaches on the intersection of the decolonial research tradition and the challenges of historical research connected to the colonial past of African countries and the influence of the Nordic countries on this connection in the modern era. The contributing scholars provide methodological and critical perspectives that challenge and advance our ways of thinking, encouraging the transcendence of disciplinary boundaries.
